It all started when …

… in his quest to better understand wellbeing in legal practice our founder Steve spent three years researching wellbeing in legal practice across UK, US and Australia and then carried out an extensive survey of members of the legal profession in the UK to best understand individual experience of wellbeing in legal practice.

Equipped with a deeper understanding Steve started searching for the best route to provide the most effective and efficient support to members of the legal profession. Steve works with Law Care and a volunteer and with Oxford Leadership to continue learning about personal experiences across the profession and to develop the skills and application of a coaching approach.

Looking back 25 years before the incorporation of Brave Ascent CIC Steve qualified as a sports coach and over the years that followed Steve trained across many aspects of sports, business and leadership coaching. This drives Steve’s approach and focus on sustainable energy, team culture and shared purpose.

Steve has spent more than 20 years practising as a solicitor in England and Wales starting in private practice (ranging from High Street, Criminal Defence, Commercial Property across London, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Kent) and moving to in-house practice in 2006 after deciding not to accept partnership.

Ultimately our belief is that we can help people in legal practice to exceed even their own expectations.

Brave Ascent CIC was founded to offer coaching, training and consultancy to support connected, sustainable and fun legal communities with purpose driven self managing leaders.
